SV 971A

Class 1 monitoring in your pocket
The SV 971A Class 1 sound level meter is designed for occupational noise and building acoustics measurements.
Features of the SV 971A
The Smallest Class 1 SLM
The Class 1 meter has been equipped with a new measuring microphone offering a LAeq linear measurement range from 27 to 137 dB (140 dB Peak) in a single range!
The microphone’s improved design ensures even better long-term stability of microphone sensitivity.
The SV 971A uses the new low-power Bluetooth® interface allowing current results to be previewed on a smartphone or tablet as well as controlling measurement with Start/Stop functionality. The Building Acoustics Assistant Application also signals an alarm when set noise limits are exceeded.
Along with the new hardware additions, the SV 971A has been equipped with a new internal program that supports the reverberation time RT 60 measurement and STIPA speech intelligibility measurements, both supported by a mobile application.

Explore our SV 971A Packs
Take your pick from our extensive SV 971A modules, from our best selling starter pack, to our more advanced options. Looking to carry out environmental measurements? Our MOLES kit transforms your handheld SLM into a full prepared environmental noise monitor.

Control Your Meter on Your Mobile
The SV 971A has bluetooth capabilties, allowing it to connect to mobile phones. This allows you to view measurements,
The Assistant pro app enables professionals in occupational safety, environmental monitoring, and engineering to control measurement processes and validate data directly on Android or iOS devices.
The app provides on site data analysis with remote measurement control. Assistant pro also provides SvanNET integration, allowing users to link their meters to online projects.
Health & Safety with Supervisor
The Supervisor software package supports the SV 971A, providing a simple way to organise, analyse and report on noise measurement data.
Measurements are automatically categorised by instrument and date, making results easy to find and review.
Supervisor also includes advanced analysis tools and custom report templates, helping users quickly generate professional noise assessment reports.

Scan&Paint 2D vs Scan&Paint 3D
April 28, 2026
Acoustic troubleshooting and sound source localisation provide insights that traditional measurement techniques can struggle to deliver. This is why tools like Scan&Paint 2D and Scan&Paint 3D are becoming so popular in the engineering field. These tools allow engineers to transform acoustic data into clear visual sound maps, making it easier…
A Deep Dive into Scan&Paint 2D
April 15, 2026
NVH Engineers face acoustic challenges every day. This could be troubleshooting noise, optimising products or improving soundproofing. Identifying the true source of unwanted sound is rarely straightforward. Traditional acoustic measurements can tell you how loud something is, but they often struggle to clearly show where the noise is coming from.…
