Where can I use the NoisePAD?

The NoisePAD’s versatile design allows it to be used in plenty of different applications and environments. Such as:

Applications of the NoisePAD

  1. Building and Environmental Acoustics

For consultants working to ISO 9614 or IEC 61672-1, the NoisePAD supports Class 1 sound level and sound power measurements. It has a bright 8 inch touchscreen displaying live data. This makes viewing level curves, spectra analysis and octave bands on site easy. This means that you don’t have to export your data to check results, saving you time.

When used with the SAMBA building acoustics module, it can measure airborne and impact sound insulation according to ISO 717 and ISO 10140, delivering clear reports immediately after testing.

  1. Machinery Vibration and Maintenance

With dual tacho inputs, the NoisePAD is great for rotational and machinery analysis. This great to for balancing rotors, tracking bearing wear, or conducting ISO 10816 vibration assessments.

The built-in signal generator can excite structures using noise or sweep signals, while the FRF option supports impulse hammer and shaker excitation for modal studies.

  1. Occupational Health and Human Vibration

For health and safety professionals, the NoisePAD provides simultaneous measurement of noise and vibration exposure in the workplace. With its HVMA module, it can perform 3-Channel analysis for hand-arm, and whole-body vibration. All while complying to ISO 8041, ISO 2631 and ISO 5349.

The integrated cameras can even document worker position and activity during testing.

  1. Environmental and Community Noise Monitoring

When conducting continuous unattended noise monitoring, low power consumption is key. The NoisePAD has just that, and portability, making it ideal for short or medium-term environmental noise monitoring.

Combined with microphones in outdoor housings, it can perform continuous unattended measurements and store data for post-analysis in SAMURAI or MATLAB.

  1. Structural and Modal Analysis

Its compact build and four high-precision channels make it a go-to tool for engineers and researchers performing modal or structural analysis. With it’s transfer FRF or Order Tracking modules, users are able to quickly characterise dynamic behaviour, identify resonance and assess structural response, all in the field.

The NoisePAD isn’t limited by its size. It’s a lightweight, rugged, and fully featured measurement system that brings laboratory-grade accuracy to the field with no compromises and no shortcuts.
