Introducing the new SV 804 wireless triaxial vibration monitor from Svantek, designed for construction, infrastructure, environmental, mining and more monitoring applications.
What Are The Key Features of the SV 804?
Compact, Direct Mount Design
The SV 804 has a significantly more compact enclosure, weighing just 1.7kg! The monitor is purpose built for structural monitoring, meaning direct installation on walls or beams without having to reposition geophones.
The compact housing allows for a setup using a single screw which makes it ideal for fast deployment in both vertical and horizontal orientations.
Automated Event Detection
The SV 804 provides fully automated, remote vibration monitoring with real-time alerts via SMS and email. The system automatically detects vibration events based on PPV thresholds and dominant frequency analysis, reducing the need for manual intervention.
Cloud Monitoring
The monitor integrates seamlessly with SvanNET. Measurement data, event history and WAV files can be accessed remotely, with configurable email and SMS alerts enabling rapid response when limits are exceeded.
Flexible Power Options
Internal, field-replaceable batteries support up to 60 days of operation, with additional options for external DC power, solar panels , and Power over Ethernet (PoE* ) enabling fully autonomous deployment in any environment.
Noise & Vibration
Create a 4-channel system by connecting an SV 303 Class 1 noise monitor (via SP 79 cable), capturing synchronized triaxial vibration and sound data through a single device.
Applications of the SV 804
The SV 804 has plenty of applications from heavy duty construction to sensitive heritage buildings.
Construction Vibration Monitoring
The SV 804 is well suited to construction sites where vibration limits must be monitored continuously. It can be installed directly onto nearby structures to measure PPV, RMS, VDV, and dominant frequency in real time. SV 804’s automated alerts via SMS or email allow for times to respond to alerts quickly if vibration limits are exceeded. This helps to reduce the risk of damage claims or project delays.
Infrastructure and Civil Engineering Projects
For infrastructure works such as roads, railways, tunnels, and bridges, the SV 804 provides long-term, remote vibration monitoring without the need for frequent site visits. The ability to run on internal batteries, solar power, or PoE makes it suitable for both temporary and semi-permanent installations.
Environmental and Community Monitoring
In noise- and vibration-sensitive areas, such as residential or mixed-use developments, the SV 804 can be used to demonstrate compliance with local vibration guidelines and standards. Integration with SvanNET allows monitoring data to be accessed remotely and shared with clients or stakeholders as required with automatically generated reports.
Mining and Quarry Monitoring
The SV 804 is suitable for vibration monitoring around mining and quarry operations where blasting, crushing, or heavy vehicle movements may affect nearby structures. Automated event detection and real-time alerts help operators identify exceedances quickly, even when sites are difficult to access.
Heritage and Sensitive Buildings
For historic or sensitive structures, the SV 804 provides accurate, Class 1 vibration data, down to VCG (extremely low frequency vibration). This is all while while minimising disruption during installation. The compact design and single-screw mounting reduce installation time and limit physical impact on the structure.

Easy Set-up in All Environments
The SV 804 is designed to be installed quickly, even in difficult or restricted locations.
At just 1.7 kg, the compact unit mounts directly to walls, beams, or other structural surfaces using a single fixing point. There’s no need for external mounting plates or repositioning of geophones, which helps reduce installation time and the risk of setup errors.
This direct-mount design allows the SV 804 to be installed in both vertical and horizontal orientations.
Unlike traditional vibration monitors, the SV 804 is purpose-built for structural monitoring. The internal tri-axial geophone does not require manual alignment or repositioning during installation.
Once mounted, the SV 804 can be configured and checked remotely via SvanNET or the Assistant Pro mobile app.
Managing Multiple Sites with SvanNET
For projects involving more than one monitoring location, managing data efficiently is just as important as the measurement itself. The SV 804 integrates directly with SvanNET. This allows for multiple vibration monitoring stations to be managed from a single online platform.
With SvanNET, all connected SV 804 units can be viewed from one dashboard. This makes it easy to:
- Check device status
- View live and historical data
- Review event logs
- Access WAV files
There’s no need to visit each site or manage separate data files for every location.
By combining the SV 804’s automated event detection with SvanNET’s centralised management tools, multiple sites can be monitored continuously with minimal manual intervention.
Which One Should You Choose?
Choosing between the SV 804 and the SV 803 isn’t just about which one is ‘newer’, it’s about matching the instrument to the specific demands of your project and site conditions.
If quick installation with hardware is a priority, the SV 804’s direct single-screw mount and compact form make setup faster and easier. This is particularly beneficial when mobility and frequent redeployment are required.
For applications where the monitor needs to remain in situ for many months, such as long running construction, tunnelling, or infrastructure projects, battery life matters. The SV 803 is has a very long battery life, of up to 6 months or more with solar power support. Making it a strong choice for projects where site access is limited or site visits are costly.
While the SV 804 also supports autonomous operation and external power options (including solar or PoE), its internal battery life is optimised around medium term projects (up to 60 days typical without external powering.
Both monitors integrate with SvanNET for cloud-based data access, real-time alerts, and remote reporting. The 803 & 804 allow expanded sensor setups via the SvanNET platform, for example integrating noise, dust, or weather data. The SV 804 also supports direct connection of an SV 303 noise monitor for s 4-channel noise + vibration data which is useful for comprehensive reporting with a single station.
