Soundcheck 23 New Features are here!
Recently, Listen Inc announced a new update to their industry leading software, Soundcheck. It comes with a host of new features and upgrades that are sure to make your life easier.
So what are the Soundcheck 23 New Features?
Real-Time Masking Curves
Forget endless graphs with no context. SoundCheck 23 is now able to show real-time tonal masking and threshold of hearing curves as you take a measurement.
But why does this matter?
- Firstly, R&D Teams can now tweak speaker design and balance cost vs audible distortion.
- Production Engineers also get a visual readout of why a product failed a Rub & Buzz test. This speeds up fault testing, making their life easier
- Everyone gets fewer head-scratching moments trying to figure out if that blip in the spectrum actually matters or not.
Smart New Tools for Smarter Testing
- Stimulus Frequency Cursor – Find the exact frequency where something went wrong in a stepped sine test, meaning no more hunting for hours.
- Frequency Counter in RPM. This is great for anyone working with fans, motors, or automotive noise. Now your test data can talk in your units, not just Hertz.
- Multichannel Oscilloscope – See multiple live waveforms with shared triggers. Perfect for catching crosstalk or timing issues in real-time.
A New Interface Upgrade
Introducing AudioConnect 8×8 Support. Full integration with Listen’s new 8-in/8-out interface, including mic power, TEDS, and auto-ranging.
You can also stack up to 4 units for 32 channels. That’s serious flexibility for array measurements or complex rigs.
Lastly, you’ll also get faster, smoother displays. This means that big datasets now load quicker and zoom smoother. Scroll wheel zooming and keyboard panning = less frustration, more productivity.
Improvements for Test Engineers
- Sequence Editor Upgrades
- Copy/paste steps
- Toggle steps on/off
- Auto-update downstream changes
These small touches make a big difference if you’re building or debugging sequences all day.
Loudness (ISO 532-3)
Want to measure perceived loudness in sones or phons over time? Now you can! This will be great for aligning objective data with subjective sound quality.
Turntable Control Over Ethernet
Testing in a remote chamber? No problem. Control the MDT-4000 turntable via Ethernet. This means no more long USB cables or awkward setups.
Other Notables
Expanded Stats – Run stats across multiple signal paths. Hello, microphone arrays and spatial testing.
Metadata in Autosave – Exporting to Excel or .txt? Your metadata comes with you now.
The Soundcheck 23 new features are more than a version bump. It’s a real leap forward in making audio testing more human, more connected to perception, and way more efficient.
Whether you’re:
- Balancing performance and price in product design
- Speed-running hundreds of QA tests per day
- Fine-tuning audio gear in automotive or consumer tech
This update gives you the insight, speed, and control you’ve probably been wishing for over the last five releases.
