Free IMMI in Person Training With IMMI Expert Dr Mathias Barthel

IMMI is a professional software developed by Wölfel Group for noise immission control and air pollutant dispersion modelling, with over 30 years of industry use and more than 5,000 active users. It’s designed for environmental engineers, consultants, regulatory agencies, and industrial companies.

If you are new to IMMI, find out about the IMMI software and read our IMMI deep dive.

In September we are welcoming Mathias from Wölfel to the AcSoft HQ in Bedford who will be hosting basic and advanced training sessions on Tuesday 23rd September.

What Can You Expect?

The day will be split in two sessions, with the basic training taking place in the morning and the advanced session running in the afternoon.

Basic session

  • General introduction of AcSoft, Wölfel and IMMI
  • Setting up a basic model for industrial noise
    • Import of maps, buildings and terrain
    • Modelling sources
    • Different types of calculation: grid, receiver point, facade calculation
    • Result lists
  • Concept of variants
    • Comparing two scenarios within one project (with/without noise barrier)
    • Dealing with two different noise types (e.g. road and industry) in one project
  • Different types of barriers and how to use them

This session is recommended if you want to learn more about IMMI to see if it could be a good fit for you, as it will give you a broad overview of the software and its capabilities. Or if you are new to the software or have only used the software a handful of times, this training will act as a good refresher!

Advanced session

  • Industrial noise: Modelling sound radiation from industrial buildings with indoor level
  • Road and railway noise
  • Special features:
    • Measurement point: how to use sound pressure measurements for adjusting sources
    • Directivity of loudspeaker systems
    • Vertical grids
  • Tips and tricks (shortcuts and macros for fast and efficient work)
  • Indoor Module: Room acoustics & occupational noise
  • Glare effect from photovoltaic installations

If you have a good understanding of IMMI but want to level up your use, or understand more of the options available to you, why not sign up for our advanced session where key modules (otherwise known as element libraries) will be covered in detail, including tips and tricks for fast and efficient work.
