The World’s Only Flying Avro Vulcan!

We were very excited to be invited to record and measure the engine noise of the last flying Vulcan at an engine test in March this year. Unfortunately, this might be its last year flying as it costs an incredible amount to keep this magnificent machine in the air.

We made binaural recordings of the engine test using an artificial head system from HEAD acoustics, supplied by AcSoft Ltd and measured the sound using a Svantek SVAN 979.

Peaking at over 138dB it was certainly a bit on the loud side!
