PU Mini Particle Velocity Probe
PU Mini Particle Velocity Probe
Description
1/2″ PU MINI SOUND INTENSITY PROBE
The PU Mini, a miniaturised PU designed for all your diverse testing requirements and needs. Measure sound pressure and particle velocity physically at the same point in one compact probe designed specifically to handle measurements that demand high spatial resolution but has space limitations. Give your product an edge by unleashing the complete potential of a PU probe to visualise & localise your sound sources.
FEATURES
- Broad Band | 20Hz -10kHz
- Compact design
- High spatial resolution
- Low susceptibility to P/I
- Less dependent on environment conditions
APPLICATIONS
- Sensor array applications
- Noise Source Identification
- Configurable grids for Near Field Acoustic Camera
- Range of Acoustic quantities: Sound Intensity, Sound Power, PVL measurements
THOROUGH SOUND FIELD ANALYSIS WITH HIGH SPATIAL RESOLUTION
The Microflown PU probe is able to simultaneously measure multiple acoustic properties such as sound pressure and particle velocity at any point of a sound field. As the only probe that can directly capture the complex acoustic behaviour present in the near field, detailed acoustic information becomes easily available to accurately find and quantify the acoustic output of multiple sound sources. The broadband response of the probe covers the complete frequency range from 20 Hz to 10000 Hz, without the need of introducing any assumptions or computational errors.
SOUND INTENSITY PROBE WITH TWO SENSORS EMBEDDED IN ONE PROBE
The PU Probe, a sound intensity probe is the combination of two sensors: a traditional microphone and a Microflown. The working principle allows the operation of the probe in-situ in real operating conditions without the need for special acoustically treated environment. Furthermore, the sensor is applicable in a wide range of scenarios like reverberation conditions, closed cavities like for example, car interiors, to carry out measurements to study the sound field, localise the sound sources or the contribution of sound sources to a particular position i.e. sound source ranking.
